Court orders Menzgold’s properties to be auctioned

- Mengold's properties at Amakom and Patase in the Ashanti region, are to be auctioned, a court has ruled

- Staff of the company, have in a recent statement, claimed that the management team members are living lavish lifestyles

- They therefore called on EOCO to conduct investigations into the matter

A Kumasi circuit court has ordered the auctioning of the properties of beleaguered gold-trading firm, Menzgold Ghana Limited.

The court ruled that the all personal and company properties at Amakom, as well as personal properties in Menzgold office at Patase, all in the Ashanti region, be sold at a public auction.

This follows news of the extravagant lifestyle of management members despite the inability of customers to redeem their investments.

Some staff of the company, in a statement released, noted that “our loyalty to both company and clients led to four months with no pay, so as to bring an end to this crisis while they (management) live lavishly without remorse.”

The staff were recently asked by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Nana Appiah Mensah, also known as NAM1, to proceed on leave until Thursday, December 20, 2018, while the recently migrated online platform has also been halted.

The staff also in their statement disclosed that management members are secretly selling off assets of the company and keeping the proceeds for themselves, with the intention of relocating outside the country to enjoy their booty.

Management members, according to staff, have fraudulently acquired properties such as luxury houses, schools, flashy cars and many more to dwindle the finances of the company.

They therefore called on the Economic and Organized Crimes Office (EOCO) to investigate their claims as a matter of urgency.
