Leaked Tape: CID and NPP are 'hypocrites' - Sammy Gyamfi

The national communications officer for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi has described the CID and the NPP as hypocrites.

He said it was hypocrisy on their part to consider a 'doctored' tape as enough evidence to charge the NDC's national chairman, Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo.

Speaking on Okay FM’s ‘Ade Akye Abia’ Morning Show, he disclosed that the people in the ruling NPP always try to hurt their feelings.

He added that no one investigated a tape which had the voice of the CID boss trying to conceal a crime which according to her was doctored.

“We are in this country where the boss of CID, Madam Danquah was captured in a recorded tape of a conversation she had with musician A-Plus, trying to conceal the committing of crime and when the tape came out, she said it is doctored. Who has investigated it? Who has called her or done anything to her?he quizzed.

He added that if similar tapes from the CID boss leaked and she wasn't invited, he saw no reason why Ofosu Ampofo's doctored tape could also not be forgotten.

“We are talking about the hypocrisy which is being played in the case of the doctored tape of Ofosu-Ampofo because if similar leaked tapes came out involving the CID boss, and they were concluded as doctored tapes and they were not invited by the police, why can’t the same be done in Ofosu-Ampofo’s doctored tape?” he said.

He wondered why the police were rather after Ofosu-Ampofo who said the incident at Ayawaso West Wuogon should be used to reform by-elections in the country; bemoaning that those who committed the atrocities in the by-election and even beat up an MP which was captured in video footage are not being invited by the police.
