Ghanaian couple in the Netherlands goes viral with kente-themed traditional wedding (photos, video)

Lloyd Akoto Dapaah and Louisa Fofie, a Ghanaian couple based in the Netherlands have gone viral on social media after after photos and video from their wedding popped up online.
The many photos and video show the couple opting to undertake a traditional wedding even though they have lived almost all of their lives and could have done a regular white wedding.

But they opted to showcase the beautiful Ghanaian culture and they did that with so much perfection with a kente-themed traditional wedding.

The photos show Louisa dressed in a colour kente and adorned in ornaments . Lloyd in the same kente cloth with similar ornaments.

The bridal train members were dressed in stunning yellow dresses while the groomsmen wore blue kaftans.
An excerpts video from the wedding shared by Louisa on social media shows almost everybody who played a role on the day dressed in kente.
And it was also replete with traditional Asante music called kete and adowa.
Explaining why she chose to have a wedding like that, Louisa explained that her late father had trained her to in the customs and thus she considered traditional wedding not as an engagement but the wedding.
Louisa Dapaah is the twin sister of Ghanaian ‘mashup queen’ Nana Fofie, who is set to be signed to Nicki Minaj’s record label. Nana Fofie is featured in the video and she looked beautiful in her kente outfit.
