An inferno has ravaged seven vehicles in a mechanic shop at Osu in Accra. The incident occurred on Sunday, December 29, 2019.

According to 3news.com, the fire also destroyed three rooms in a residential building adjacent to the mechanic shop.

It is not stated what the cause of the fire was but investigations are expected to continue to find the root cause of the fire and to put measures in place so that the event does not recur.

According to the news reporter, Moses Dickson, who was at the site of the disaster, the cars affected were relatively new.

“The cars are quite new,” said Dickson, adding that a motorbike in the affected residential building was also destroyed.

It is also reported that it took personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) over 40 minutes to totally extinguish the fire. No injuries or deaths were recorded.

The festive season has come with disturbing news of fires gutting different places.

Just recently, YEN.com.gh reported that Aduni Achana, a hardworking farmer from Bonia, near Navrongo in the Upper East Region has been filled with grief as his 2-acre rice farm has gotten burnt into ashes.

Mynewsgh.com reports that Achana is a popular farmer in his area and was even recognised as the 2018 Best Disabled Farmer in the entire Kassena Nankana Municipality.

The incident did not actually occur on the 'blind side' of the sad farmer because he was present during the fire.
