Year of Return: Akufo-Addo holds plush party for foreigners at his residence

President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo, has hosted some of the popular faces in Ghana for the festivities surrounding the “Year Of Return” initiative.

Akufo-Addo hosted some of the popular “Year Of Return” faces that are still in town, at his residence for a private party which saw Nigeria’s Davido in attendance hanging out with the first family of the country.

The “Year of Return” has seen popular faces like Steve Harvey, Ludacris, Lupita Nyong’o, Boris Kodjoe, Hisham Tawfik, Bazoma Saint John among others, visiting and touring Ghana especially the Cape Coast castle.

Beyonce’s mother, Tina Knowles-Lawson, was also at the President’s private party where she met Lupita Nyong’o and couldn’t hide her joy by sharing a photo of them at the party.

Bazoma Saint John who was also at the cocktail party, shared a photo with her assistant and wrote "When I introduce @nimotalaiganiyu as “my assistant”, people usually think I said “my sister”... and now we’re twinning on our 3rd trip to Ghana this year, celebrating at The President & First Lady’s cocktail party. "

Davido who performed at the private ceremony also took to social media to share his time with the President and his wife at the party.

In other news, The Bank of Ghana (BoG) has announced that it would auction US$715 million in Forward Foreign Exchange Auctions for the year 2020.

Per the schedule released by the Bank of Ghana, the central bank would have the highest auction of 80 million dollars each in January, February and March 2020.

According to the Bank of Ghana’s Foreign Exchange Forward Auction guidelines issued on September 23, 2019, the bids are invited as per the prescribed format to purchase or sell US dollar against Ghana cedi separately on each auction date.
