Kwaku Oteng: Angel FM owner shares secret to his success (video)

Angel Group of Companies owner, Dr Kwaku Oteng, has opened up on some of the secrets of his success as a businessman.

On Monday, July 20, 2020, in an interview with James Kata on Pure FM, one of the radio stations he owns in Kumasi, Dr Oteng was asked to offer a piece of advice to the youth on success in life.

In his submission, the Adonko Bitters owner mentioned two main things he believes one should do to be successful.

The first thing, he said, was for one to be God-fearing. According to him, it does not matter how one wants to live their lives, but there should always be the fear of God in their dealings.

He added that after fearing God, one needs to pay their tithes in good faith in order to receive the blessings.

I know it is God who has kept us this far. So, for me, it is the fear of God and the payment of tithes which is very important.

Giving an example, Dr Oteng indicated that about 20 years ago he had never had one million cedis (now GHc100) because anytime he got that amount he fell sick and spent the money to get better.

After a discussion with his pastor, he was encouraged to diligently pay his tithes, which he obliged and started carrying his tithe card on his business trips.

At that time, he had started Angel Herbal and within three months, he saw a massive improvement in sales and made three million cedis within three months.

According to Dr Oteng, it was out of this three million that he bought his first car, a Toyota Tercel which cost him two million.

It was based on this personal testimony that he has become a strong advocate for the payment of tithe as a means of getting God's blessings and getting rich.

Dr Kwaku Oteng's Angel Group is a big conglomerate with business interests in manufacturing, broadcasting (media), construction, education, and hospitality industries.

The most popular of his businesses include Angel Broadcasting Network which operates 16 radio stations; Angel FM Kumasi, Angel FM Accra, Pure FM Kumasi, Cheers FM Sunyani, Angel FM Tamale, O FM Obuasi, among others and one television station; Angel TV.

Oteng's Adonko Company Limited is the producer of the popular Adonko Bitters range of liquor.

He owns Angel Educational Complex and Angel Real Estate and Construction in Kumasi. Others are Angel Transport, Angel Herbal Products, Abrantie Spot in Accra, and Plus 2 Pub in Kumasi.

In the same interview, Dr Oteng revealed that his group of companies has a workforce of about 5,000 people.

According to him, the five thousand are those directly employed and on the payroll of his group of companies.

The millionaire further disclosed the amount he pays as salaries to these 5,000 workers is around one million Ghana cedis.
