Scrap Dealer Threatens To Kill Maid

35-year old Scrap dealer, Promise Chiowa, threatened to kill his 12 year old girl maid after having sexual intercourse with her in his wife’s room in June 2015 if she dare reports her ordeal to anyone.

The victim Favour, who resides with the convict and his wife at Anyaa market, confided in her peers in school to disclose the absurd secret. The authorities were then informed and further reports were made to the Social Welfare Department, Ga Central Municipal Assembly and to the Odorkor Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) police.

The Police together with the victim attended Dansoman Polyclinic where the victim was examined and treated. Promise, a Nigerian National was identified to the police by Favour on 30 July 2015 and was arrested. He admitted to the offence in his caution statement during interrogation and attributed it to be the acts of the devil.

He was therefore charged with the offence of defilement of a female child under sixteen at the Accra Circuit Court and prosecuted by ACP Atibillah from the year 2013 to June 2015. The court presided over by Justice Aboagye Tandoh on Wednesday remanded accused person into police custody and adjourned the case to 18 August 2015.
