Joseph Makubu: Akufo-Addo appoints physically challenged man as Oti regional minister

- President Akufo-Addo has appointed a physically challenged New Patriotic Party (NPP) member, Joseph Makubu, as minister-designate for Oti Region

- Makubu is said to be the NPP secretary of that region and has served in various capacities in the party so far

- He is a professional teacher who is now going to serve as the Oti Regional Minister if approved by parliament's appointments committee

President Akufo-Addo has appointed Joseph Makubu, a physically challenged man as minister-designate for the Oti Region.

Makubu’s name was included in the official list of ministers released by the government on the evening of Thursday, January 21, 2021.

YEN.com.gh has gathered that Makubu has been a loyal NPP member for many years and has served in various capacities at the regional level.

He is said to be the current secretary of the Oti Region branch of the NPP.

Also a trained teacher, Makubu's hard work within the party, despite his disability, has earned him an appointment in Akufo-Addo's second term.

Government released an official list of ministers nominated for the various ministries as well as regions for Akufo-Addo's second term in office.

They are awaiting vetting and approval from the appointments committee of parliament.

In an earlier report by YEN.com.gh, it was established that some ministers have been reshuffled while others have been booted out.

Key among the reassigned ministers are former Education Minister, Matthew Opoku Prempeh, popularly known as Napo, who has now been moved to the Energy Ministry.

The former Energy Minister, John Peter Amewu, has now been assigned to the Ministry of Railways Development.

In other news, Rev. Owusu Bempah has claimed that things have changed in spirit and that Mahama can become president again.

Bempah is thus making a U-turn from his former pronouncement against Mahama that he can never be president again, and that he will only be disgraced if he forces himself.
