John Dramani Mahama took his COVID-19 vaccine jab on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, at the Police Hospital in Accra.

The former president who is the flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the petitioner in the ongoing 2020 election petition took the jab together with his wife Lordina.

Speaking moments after getting himself protected from the deadly contagion, Mahama told journalists that the vaccine is safe, urging for the disregard of conspiracies that the vaccine was created to wipe out the African race.

Ghana on February 22, 2021, took delivery of 600,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine under the United Nation-led COVAX facility.
