At 84 years, Paulina Doh has been hard hit by an act of God following a destructive storm that swept through the community of Avetakpo in the Ho West District in the Volta Region.

The octogenarian who is living with a disability lost her only house as a result.

Doh has lived in Avetakpo her entire life and has no decent place to call home after the storm destroyed her house.

“I am disabled and childless. I depend on relatives and community members for food to survive and don't feed when they don't come through.''

The frail aged woman is unable to farm due to her condition, she decried.

Doh was only able to take a bag that contains some of her clothes during the storm that raised her mudhouse down on February 9.

''My house was destroyed last month by a storm. I can’t do anything because I am disabled. My bag and other possessions are trapped in the room,'' she said.

Doh was compelled to convert her small kitchen into a multipurpose room, which serves as a kitchen during the day and a bedroom at night.

The poor physically challenged woman whose health and living conditions keep worsening by day is appealing to the government and other philanthropic organisations to come to her aid.

''I am suffering. My building has collapsed. I will be happy if I can be provided a befitting building and a kitchen,'' she said.
