A Nigerian lady identified as Tolu Joseph has shared her heart-wrenching experience of over 20 years. The lady said she bed-wetted for over two decades.
Speaking with BBC News Pidgin, she said she tried a lot of superstitious acts to ensure that she stops bed-wetting but all to no avail.
Tolu said when she entered secondary school, she thought she would stop bed-wetting but it continued till she gained admission into the university.
According to the young lady, her parents and family members tried their best to solve the problem but it persisted despite all their efforts.
In her words:
"I was asked to pray to grinding stone whenever I was going to bed."
She said whenever she was ready to sleep, she would tell the grinding stone to ensure that she didn't bed-wet. In spite of this, the bed-wetting didn't stop.
Tolu, however, had a breakthrough with the help of the internet when she went online to read about her condition.
It was then that she found out that she was suffering from enuresis. She read about the possible causes of the condition and how to prevent it.
According to her, it was the knowledge she gathered from the internet that made her realise that she had a small bladder.
She said she avoided some foods and introduced a strange alarm system. With the alarm system in place, Tolu would wake up at intervals to urinate.
The young lady has stopped bed-wetting since 2018 and has written a book to help others who are still experiencing such.
In other news, a Nigerian lady identified as Olori Blessing Herry solicited help on social media as she is in dire need of N150,000 for an urgent surgery before the weekend.
The young lady with the Twitter handle @olori_blessing said she is hopeful that help would come her way.
In her words:
"I need 150k for an urgent surgery before weekend. I don't know how it will happen but I know God will come through, this pain is too much."
