Little is known about Jim and Jakob Nowell's relationship as the siblings pursued different adulthood interests.

4. Jakob battled addiction

Growing in fame at a young age, Jakob struggled with so much from personal issues to addictions that almost tore his career apart. He indulged in drinking at a young age and later struggled with it for more than ten years. However, all was not lost as he got help from his father's old-time friend, who had also battled with addiction and later overcame.

5. He wrote There and Back Again while in rehab

Nowell's addiction and later going to rehab never stopped his music career. While there, Jakob Nowell continued to write music and even met other musicians who helped him shape his music career. While in rehab, he wrote There and Back Again, which became the feature song in band LAW’s 2008 album release.

Jakob Nowell never knew his father that much since he died when the vocalist was only 11 months. However, he lived to uphold the legacy of his dad through music. He formed his band, the LAW, which released various top-selling albums with tours around the world.
