A Brentwood-based 7-year-old girl has impressed many people for using his voice to bring change.
Morgan Bugg, a first-grader at Edmondson Elementary School recently made sure the school's online program added a very important issue.
TUKO.co.ke understands Bugg was part of Kelley Anne Joyner's online class using a program known as Freckle.
It should be noted the program is hailed because students who use it earn coins when they complete tasks such as reading and math problems.
Students can then use the online coins to customise their own personal avatars.
Well, it was through the program's(App) that Bugg realised there were no hairstyles for Black girls.
The girl had to talk about it when Joyner noticed she was a little sad during a brain break and talked to her privately.
Bugg told the teacher that she was frustrated because she did not see any Black hairstyle on the App to choose from.
The teacher asked what they can do to help and make her happy.
“What can we do? How can we fix this to make the situation better?” Joyner asked.
Bugg suggested they should ask Freckle to add hair variations for Black girls.
“We can ask them to add Black girl hair,” Bugg said.
The young girl took it upon himself to draw a number of different hairstyles and forwarded them to Freckle and explained why they would be a wonderful addition to the App.
The App considered her request, worked for it and finally responded with news that really excited the young girl.
“Our product team recently added more hairstyles to the Piggy Store-based directly on your feedback. Thanks again for sharing your insightful comments on how to improve the student experience on Freckle.” Freckle response read.
