29-Year-Old Lady Picks 'Pure' Water Nylons, Uses Them to Make Interlocking Tiles that Last Long, Many React

- A Nigerian lady, Intissar Bashir Kurfi, has further proven that what a man can do, a woman can do better

- She is using sachet water nylon to make interlocking tiles that last longer than the conventional ones

- The lady, who is based in the Federal Capital Territory, is on a mission to rid Nigeria of plastic wastes

A Nigerian lady identified as Intissar Bashir Kurfi has got people talking on social media for using sachet water nylons (popularly called pure water) to make interlocking tiles.

The young lady, who is the founder of Ifrique Design, said she engages students in picking the waste and rewards them with solar light for night reading.

In an interview with BBC Pidgin, Intissar said her interlocking tiles are stronger than the conventional ones.

In her words:

"If your conventional interlocking tile is going to spend 10 years, this one is going to spend 30 years."

Intissar decided to use waste to make interlocking tiles because of the danger of plastic waste in society.

She said:

"My wish is to rid Nigeria out of plastic and especially Abuja and also to see that our product is being used for making roads that don't have potholes and building houses, building schools, building public toilets out of these plastic wastes that we have."

A Nigerian man with the Twitter handle @OvieAli shared the lady's story on his page and many were impressed.

In a LinkedIn post, the lady identified as Adejoke Lasisi shared beautiful bags, clothes and shoes she made from recycled sachet water nylon wastes.
