Last night, people milling about in the Accra International Conference Center's foyer were treated to an interesting sight when they saw Kwaw Kesse enter the building with a wheelbarrow carrying all of his past VGMA awards with a FOR SALE sign hanging over it.

The artist has previously received the artiste of the Year, Hiplife Album of the Year, Hip life Artiste of the Year, Hiplife Song of the Year, and Hip hop Song of the Year in in the past among other awards.

Kwaw Kesse recently stated on air that a VGMA nomination alone isn't enough for one to make money, and that as far as he was concerned, money is what he wants in order to provide for his family.

"If VGMA gives you the recognition and you don’t work your way to the top, you will not make money…if you don’t work yourself up, forget it. I’m all about money now so I can pay the fees of my kid.”

Kwaw Kesse behavior last night could also be in relation to scandals that surfaced last year regarding bribing allegations. Charterhouse, the event management company involved in organizing the VGMA awards, was accused of taking bribes from certain artists in return for VGMA nominations.
