It would seem like that the Free SHS initiative is not going to to see the end of problems as some students under the scheme are complaining of small portions of food.
According to a report by CitiFMOnline.com, 1st year students of Mamfi Methodist Girls Senior High School in the Eastern Region are not happy with the portion sizes of meal served them for lunch as part of the free Senior High School programme.
According to the report, a pan of food is shared by 12 students in a group around a small table.
And the quantity was not the only problem the students of Mamfi SHS apparently complained about.
The report continued that the students also complained about the quality of the food.
"We are not happy with the food. We want more. The government should do something about it," a student reportedly told the Accra-based radio station.
Free SHS, a campaign promise of the New Patriotic Party, took flight when it was launched by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo about a week ago.
However, since the launch of the initiative, which seeks to provide free first year SHS education for students, several problems have threatened the programme and its continuity.
