Rwandan gospel musician and TikTok sensation, Musabyimana Gloriose, popularly known as Gogo, has reportedly died. She was 36.

Gogo passed away during a trip to Uganda on an evangelism tour, according to a close friend, Bruno K, who confirmed her death.

"To all the fans of GoGo in Uganda, we have lost our dear superstar. Just got the news this morning. Rest in peace, GoGo," he shared in a post on TikTok.

The gospel musician gained prominence on social media with her soulful songs and infectious stage performances.

She was known for songs such as Everyday, I Need Blood of Jesus, which went viral on TikTok and became the background to countless videos.

What caused Gogo's death?

TikTok star Gogo reportedly died following a three-day trip to Uganda to participate in a revival in Mbarara, according to Tuko.co.ke.

Pulse Live reports that she travelled to Kampala after her appearances in Mbarara, which went on from August 29-31.

According to Fred Muzik Promoter, one of East Africa’s largest promoters who worked with Gogo, she was rushed to the Kyengera Doctors Medical Centre in Kampala after feeling unwell.

He stated that her alleged cause of death was due to epilepsy.

“With great sadness, we announce the passing of Rwandan gospel musician Musabyimana Gloriose a.k.a Gogo, who left us on September 3, 2025, at Kyengera Doctors Medical Centre in Kampala. According to the medical report, the cause of death was due to epilepsy as a consequence of respiratory aspiration,” he wrote.

He added that Gogo’s legacy will shine forever through her music, which comforted millions across the continent.

Ghanaian TikToker Osanju passes away

Previously, YEN.com.gh reported that popular Ghanaian TikToker Osanju died after a drawn-out battle with leukaemia.

Osanju fell ill in his room around 2 a.m. on Monday, September 1, and was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital.

He was subsequently transferred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital and was pronounced dead shortly after arrival at the facility.
