Daddy Lumba’s first wife, Akosua Serwaa, grabbed attention on social media after a video of her speaking flawless German surfaced.

Akosua Serwaa married the Ghanaian highlife legend in the 1980s after they met in Germany, where they were both residing.

Their marriage produced four children over the years, before the singer married a second woman, Odo Broni, when he mostly relocated to Ghana after falling ill.

Akosua Serwaa remained in Germany with her children and has been staying in the European country until her recent return following the singer’s death.

Akosua Serwaa's flawless German delights Ghanaians

In a video seen by YEN.com.gh, Akosua Serwaa displayed her fluency in German.

She was seen thanking Ghanaians for the support received by the Lumba family since the musician’s death.

Akosua Serwaa initially spoke English but later transitioned to Twi and German, showcasing her linguistic dexterity.

Ghanaians praised Daddy Lumba's widow for her soft-spoken nature and were impressed by her display of language skills.

Akosua Serwaa returns to Ghana from Germany

On Friday, August 1, 2025, Akosua Serwaa visited Daddy Lumba's home in East Legon to mourn with the family following the late singer's death.

She returned to Ghana a few days earlier for the first time in years as videos showed her arrival at the Kotoka International Airport in Accra.

She wore an all-black outfit as she landed at Ghana's main airport and looked devastated over the tragedy.

Akosua Serwaa weeps at Lumba's home

Previously, YEN.com.gh reported that Daddy Lumba's first wife Akosua Serwaa wept upon her arrival at the singer's East Legon home.

In a video, she could be seen descending from a car in the company of Ghanaian businessman Kennedy Agyapong.

Akosua Serwaa appeared shaken and emotional over her arrival at her late husband’s residence and walked into the home with teary eyes, with family members helping her to maintain her balance.
