Daddy Lumba passes away
Daddy Lumba, a legendary figure who significantly influenced the Ghanaian music scene, passed away on July 26, 2025, after a prolonged illness at his residence in East Legon, Accra.
As his health deteriorated, he was transferred to the Bank Hospital in Cantonments, but ultimately succumbed to his health challenges.
Following widespread rumours about his health, his family released an official statement confirming the devastating news, sending shockwaves through the music industry and the nation at large.
He was survived by two wives and an impressive total of eleven children, reflecting the complex tapestry of his personal life.
Mahamudu Bawumia supports Lumba's family
Earlier, YEN.com.gh wrote about Daddy Lumba's family, who extended formal invitations to several prominent figures, underscoring the profound impact he had on his community and the nation.
On August 26, former Vice-President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia graciously met with the family, where he made a generous donation of GH₵100,000 to support the observance event.
