The late Ghanaian highlife musician passed away on Saturday, June 26, 2025, after a short illness.

He fell sick at his East Legon home and was rushed to the Bank Hospital in Cantonments, where he died.

Daddy Lumba’s death sparked nationwide mourning over the loss of a music icon whose sound transcended generations.

On Saturday, August 30, 2025, the one-week commemoration of the late legend’s death was held at the Black Star Square in Accra.

Daddy Lumba’s brother-in-law storms one week observance

During the one-week observance, family members, friends, and loved ones of the late musician were joined by prominent Ghanaian personalities to commemorate his passing.

Prince Ofori Atta, the twin brother of Daddy Lumba’s wife, Priscilla Ofori Atta, popularly known as Odo Broni, turned heads when he made his first public appearance at the event.

In a video seen by YEN.com.gh, he arrived at the one-week observance dressed in all black and in a sombre mood.

He was spotted conversing with some bloggers before entering the event grounds, accompanied by a few other people.

Prince Ofori Atta received online praise after he bravely comforted his sister during the musician’s one-week observance.

His sister, Odo Broni, appeared inconsolable over her husband’s loss and was seen weeping bitterly.

Despite being surrounded by a huge number of people, Odo Broni’s sorrow could not be contained.

Amid her grief, Prince Ofori Atta provided a shoulder for his crying sister even as he navigated his own grief.

A video of the moment went viral online, with netizens expressing their condolences to the bereaved.

Serwaa Amihere comforts Daddy Lumba's widow

Previously, YEN.com.gh reported that Odo Broni received comfort from media personality Serwaa Amihere at her late husband's home in East Legon.

Before heading to the Black Star Square for the one-week observance of the late Daddy Lumba, Serwaa Amihere visited the musician's residence, where she was seen in the company of Odo Broni.

In a video shared by blogger GhKwaku, the GHOne presenter spoke to Daddy Lumba's second wife while having her left arm around her shoulder to provide solace in her moment of difficulty.
