The nurse, who was reportedly assaulted at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital, popularly known as Ridge Hospital, has broken her silence on the incident involving firebrand activist Ralph St. Williams.

In a video sighted by YEN.com.gh on the TikTok page of @nppnews_gh, the nurse spoke to the media during a visit by executives of the Ghana Registered Nurses' and Midwives’ Association (GRNMA).

Detailing what happened, the nurse stated that Ralph came to the hospital with certain demands, expecting preferential treatment.

She explained that the activist became upset after his request for immediate attention was not met, as staff followed standard procedures and protocols.

“When he came, he wanted us to leave everybody and attend to him. So we explained to him, but he wouldn’t sit down. My in-charge told him to get a card. He asked, ‘Why should I get a hospital card?’ He said his name must be in the system, and once it’s there, everything should pop up. But my in-charge told him, ‘No, it’s not done like that in Ghana.’ That’s when he got angry because he was told that’s not how the system works.”

Health ministry condemns attack

The Ministry of Health condemned the attack on health professionals at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital by activist Ralph St. William.

The ministry, in a statement, disclosed that investigations were ongoing into the circumstances surrounding the reported delay in care, with steps being taken to address any identified lapses.

"This Ralph guy is fooling too much…You people think all those people wearing uniforms are nurses in the hospital?some are cleaners” sometimes it’s just 3-4 nurses on duty and are even busy attending to different patients…

Ralph St Williams confronts NPP MP

YEN.com.gh reported that Ralph St Williams confronted NPP MP Stephen Amoah in a viral video.

The outspoken activist accosted the Nhyiaeso MP in a manner at the forecourt of Parliament as he made his way into the chamber.

The NPP member, however, kept his cool and ignored the rants by Ralph.
