The incident captured on video reignited conversations on environmental responsibility in Ghana. Pedestrians and vehicles passed by, seemingly unbothered by her actions, until the Buzstopboys stepped in.
Dressed in their bright yellow safety vests, the group approached the woman and urged her to clean the mess on the street. She was a bit defensive for some time as they handed her a broom to sweep a section of the street herself.
She later gave in to the pressure, and she was made to sweep, gather, and bag the rubbish under their supervision. The narration in the video lamented over the lack of national discourse on the issue, highlighting the systemic problem of waste management in Ghana.
