The son of Rev. Anthony Kwadwo Boakye has gone public on the brouhaha that ensued when some disgruntled members of the Resurrection Power New Generation Church (RPNGC) stormed the premises on Sunday, September 7, 2025.

In a video sighted by YEN.com.gh on the TikTok page of @otuosepomedia, Benjamin Boakye, who is the Director of the church, in a televised address, first on behalf of management, issued an apology to the church members and other stakeholders over what transpired.

Although he failed to share details on the cause of the protest by the disgruntled members, he admitted that initial efforts to resolve the matter, such as going to court, involving the police, and getting prominent individuals, such as chiefs, to mediate, had all failed.

Benjamin Boakye then stated that, in an effort to bring finality to the issue at hand, the church had resolved to embark on intense midnight prayers.

He, therefore, concluded by appealing to the church members to make it a point to join the midnight prayers.

Details of the RPNGC protest

Resurrection Power New Generation Church (RPNGC) made the news for the wrong reasons in September when some members, wielding placards, gathered on the church premises to voice their displeasure with the church’s management and demand accountability for church funds.

One of the protesters could be heard in the video saying that the church had been regressing ever since the death of its founder, Rev. Anthony Kwadwo Boakye, in 2023.

Holy Harry commented:

“If you’re a member of this ministry, you will understand everything that is ongoing better, but onlookers will be more worried than ever. Dwene wo ho na hwe adaagye a wahwere asafo yi ho. This demo says a lot. Even if Rev. were alive, the demonstration would still go on, because the members registered their plight in his office before.”
