In court documents, he alleged that Ashie-Moore posed as a well-connected businessman capable of securing lucrative contracts from ECG, convincing Kang to pay an $800,000 'commitment fee' for a phantom contract.
Kang further claimed that Ashie-Moore demanded an additional $1.5 million, purportedly to support the NDC's 2024 political campaign.
He also stated that the politician referenced President John Mahama, then a presidential candidate, in WhatsApp messages to prove his credibility.
Their relationship soured when Ashie-Moore allegedly lured Kang to Ghana in May 2025 and had him detained by armed men.
The Singaporean businessman explained that he was stripped of his assets and arrested.
Consequently, he said Ashie-Moore and his armed men demanded a ransom of $3 million from his family, but the Singaporean Embassy intervened to facilitate his release and subsequent legal action.
