Former Black Star player Abedi Pele's relationship with both his wife and football can be described as nothing less than stellar.
The legendary former Ghana National Football Team Captain and his wife officially got hitched in 1987, three decades ago today and produced two (almost) equally successful football stars by way of the couple's sons Andre and Jordan Ayew.
Andre Ayew currently plays for West Ham United, captained the national U-20 team that went on to win the U-20 World Cup held in Egypt in 2009, a first ever for the African Ghana and the African continent.

Andre's younger brother, Jordan Ayew, plays for English Premier League (EPL) side Swansea. He's scored 12 goals in 46 caps for the Ghanaian national team since he first played for the Ghanaian senior national team.
With a father who's attained legendary status, a son who captained the first African U-20 team to win the U-20 World Cup, and both sons playing in two of English football's top flight teams, it would fair to surmise that the Ayew family is arguably Ghana's most successful sporting family.
