Erling Haaland's girlfriend, Isabel Johansen, had quite the reaction when she first came face-to-face with the Manchester City striker's dramatic new haircut.
The 26-year-old attacker ditched his trademark long ponytail in favour of a sharp military-style buzzcut ahead of City's Premier League curtain-raiser against AFC Bournemouth, and a video capturing Isabel's initial response quickly spread across social media.

In the clip, Isabel had her back turned when Haaland approached her. The moment she spun around and caught sight of the new look, her jaw dropped.
"Oh, my God," she muttered before stepping closer to run her hand across his freshly shaved scalp.
Her verdict, however, was warm.
"It looks nice," she told him. When pressed further on what she genuinely thought, she did not hold back: "You look cute... I think you really look tough."
She also joked that she might wake up one morning and wonder who was beside her, given how different he looked.
When Haaland held up a photo of his old hairstyle and gestured to his new cut, asking which she preferred, Isabel smiled and said, "Both."

Pep Guardiola shares honest take on Haaland
Isabel was not the only person with something to say about the transformation.
Former Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, now bald himself, joined a video call with Haaland and made no effort to hide his enthusiasm.
"No way. You're lucky you have hair. I would love to have it. I love it," Guardiola told the striker.
When Haaland pushed him to confirm whether the compliment was genuine, Guardiola said yes, though he reassured him that growing the ponytail back remained an option if he had second thoughts.

Background to Haaland and Isabel's love story
According to Staff Connections, the couple share a long history that stretches back to their hometown of Bryne, Norway, where they grew up together.
Both played football at Bryne FK, with Isabel featuring as a left winger.
Their friendship gradually became a romance during Haaland's time at Borussia Dortmund, and the pair welcomed their first child, a son, in December 2024.
On the pitch, Haaland endured a frustrating Sunday afternoon against Bournemouth, squandering clear-cut opportunities he would ordinarily convert.
Fortunately for City, Marc Guehi and Josko Gvardiol both scored late to rescue a comeback win after Marcus Tavernier had given Bournemouth the lead, according to ESPN.
Haaland will be eager to put the off-day behind him when City travels to Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace on August 28.
