Her death was reported to Chelstone Police Station at approximately 09:30 hours on a Thursday in August 2026. According to Zambian police, she died between 03:30 and 04:30 hours at Victoria Hospital in Lusaka.
Police deputy spokesperson Chipo Kaitisha disclosed that Lisa had spent the previous evening alongside two female friends at a hotel where she served as a brand ambassador.
The three women later left the venue around 22:30 hours and moved on to another socialising spot in Lusaka, where they continued their night out.
Lisa Mutambo's final hours
Between 02:30 and 03:00 hours, Lisa's boyfriend, identified as Caleb Lisa, also known as Andrea (whose Facebook profile lists the name Andrew Chimba), arrived and collected all three women. He dropped the two friends in the Minestone/Casanova area before taking Lisa back to their shared residence in Kalundu.
Shortly after they arrived home, Lisa began vomiting and subsequently lost consciousness. Her boyfriend contacted a friend, and together they rushed her to Victoria Hospital, where medical staff pronounced her dead on arrival.
Police officers later processed both the primary and secondary scenes as part of their ongoing investigation.
Police dismiss social media claims
Early reports circulating on social media alleged that Lisa had been beaten to death by her boyfriend, a claim that quickly gained traction and prompted public outrage. Police, however, firmly disputed this, stating that no physical injuries were observed on her body during examination.
Lisa's body was initially taken to FSG Mortuary before being transferred to the University Teaching Hospital Mortuary, where a postmortem examination is scheduled to determine the official cause of death. An inquiry file has been opened, and investigations into the circumstances surrounding her passing are continuing.
