Shatta Wale sets record with his over 100 songs releases just in 2017 alone

Self-acclaimed dancehall king and award-winning musician, Charles Nii Armah Mensah, known in the world of entertainment as Shatta Wale has set a record with the number of songs he has released in 2017.

The “Taking Over” hit maker has successfully produced a whopping 108 songs as of a couple of days ago. He recently released his 109th song which was titled “Libya” just a day ago.

The songs were released between January and November and he featured a number of artistes in some of the songs.

The popular songs among the list include “Taking Over”, “Ayoo”, “Forgetti”, “Ma Chargie” and “Dem Confuse”.

Some of the songs released by the artiste including “Timaya”, “Patoranking”, “Say Fi” and “Ghamro” were instigated out of ‘beefs’ and rivalries.

He also featured his long-time girlfriend and baby mama known as Shatta Michy in a song titled, “Low Tempo”

He is noted to have also produced a song in honor of the late Major Maxwell Adam Mahama who was lynched by some angry residents in New Obuasi formerly known as Denkyira Obuasi.

The outspoken dancehall artiste was also involved in a number of controversies this year with the major ones involving his comments about Nigerian musician, Wizkid.

The comments he made sparked some ‘controversy’ and it put some Nigerians on social media on a warpath with him.

He was also seen in a video firing live bullet rounds into the air; an action which was purported to be a ‘warning’ to Nigerian artistes. The musician was heavily criticized over the issue by some big names in the entertainment industry including Bola Ray.
