Some days ago, it was reported that Akindele’s name was published on popular movie review website, IMDB.

It was announced that she was going to act alongside international movie stars, Robert Downey Jr known to have played the role of "Iron Man" and Chris Hemsworth (Thor), in Marvel Studios’ latest movie, "Avengers: Infinity Wars".

According to IMDb, Akindele was to play a member of the Dora Milaje, a team of women who serve as personal bodyguards of the Black Panther, the spiritual leader of Wakanda.

However, a check on the official website shows that Funke’s name has been deleted from the cast list and replaced with Genevieve Nnaji who will be playing same role, Dora Milaje.

Some movie critics were of the view that Funke Akindele had turned down the offer to star in the Marvel movie which had world-renown actors and actresses.

Other people had it that on-screen vixen, Genevieve Nnaji had worked her way up the movie industry so well to be able to get the urge over Funke for the 'enviable' role in the action-packed movie which is yet to be released.

Both Funke and Genevieve are top-notch actresses in their own right and it goes as a win to the nation of Nigeria having one of their nationals star in the star-studded movie.
