Unable to execute this order, Nyamekye decided to leave the country and thus start a new life there.

"On the night of 31st December, they (Rawlings’ men) had wanted to task me and my friend to either shoot or arrest Dr. Hilla Limann and Vice President Joseph W.S. de-Graft Johnson immediately they stepped on the dancefloor but I refused,” he revealed in an interview.

Meanwhile, daughter of Hilla Limann says she finds no connection with the former president especially when he conspired to overthrow her father while he was president in 1979.
