5 year-old boy drowns along with mother as father weeps helplessly
- An attempt by the mother to save her drowning son meant that she lost her life too
- The father, Emmanuel Akrong, is originally from Ghana but lives and works in Canada
The sad story occurred of a 38 year-old woman and her son of 5 drowning in Brampton Canada has sent chills down the spines of many. The woman, Elizabeth Solomon and her son, Emmanuel Jr drowned in the pool at their home.
Elizabeth had called for help as records show, uttering the words "My son is dying". Unfortunately, a mother's desperate rescue effort to get her son out of danger proved futile as she lost her life too.
The man of the family, Emmanuel Akrong reportedly came home minutes after his wife's call only to find a sad sight. In an interview with The Star, as reported by myjoyonline.com, Akrong explained how he failed rescuing both his wife and child.

He said he also tried to lift his wife out of the water, but could not manage it on his own. A neighbour reported that he heard Akrong shouting for help, asking anyone to come to his pool.
The neighbour then ran through the front door to the pool area. He reports of seeing the young boy lying on the deck but the woman still in the water perhaps because Akrong could not carry her alone.
There were attempts to resuscitate the boy but nothing worked. He had lost his life.

Elizabeth Solomon was taken to the hospital, where she died early Sunday morning. A post-mortem has reportedly been scheduled for the mother and son.
Emmanuel Akrong is originally from Ghana but had been living and working in Canada for some years.
