Deputy Communications Minister George Andah has dismissed claims on social media that he has been flown outside the country for treatment following Saturday’s accident involving him and two others.
YEN.com.gh reported earlier on Sunday that George Andah, was involved in a near-fatal accident while travelling on Saturday morning. Accra-based Citi FM reported that the accident happened on the Bawjiase road in Kasoa.
Andah was reportedly travelling to a funeral in the company of three other persons when the accident occurred.
But shortly after the news of his accident came through, rumours began on social media that George Andah was going to be flown outside the country for attention.
The Awutu Senya West MP is currently on admission at the 37 military hospital.
Through an aide, this message was written on Facebook: "We’ve just felt the pressing need to come out and emphatically state that, Hon. Nenyi George Andah, has not been flown to the U.K, South Africa or anywhere out of Ghana."
“He is receiving and responding to treatment along with the other victims, right here. Let’s keep our hopes high and our thoughts genuine. God bless us, as we pray - Aide”
He was flown from the Kasoa hospital where he was first taken to after a refer.
Andah has carved a niche for himself as an outspoken politician since becoming a Member of Parliamnet in 2017.
