Former president John Mahama has dismissed reports that he has decided on who will become his running mate for the 2020 elections.
A statement from his campaign office and signed by a spokesman, James Agyenim-Boateng, revealed that Mahama had made no such decision.
It therefore called on Ghanaians to disregard such news, as there is no element of truth in it.

“Mahama is presently focused on both his NDC flagbearer campaign and his official duties, therefore, Ghanaians should disregard all such conjectures,” the statement read.
Mahama is currently campaigning to reclaim power for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the party on whose ticket he led Ghana as president.
Some names have popped up with regard to the running mate slot if Mahama secures a win as NDC’s flagbearer.
One of them is the member of parliament (MP) for the Korle Klottey constituency, Dr. Zanetor Rawlings, daughter of former president Jerry John Rawlings.
Another is the former deputy governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr. Johnson Asiama.
Even before he takes a decision on who to partner him to contest for the 2020 elections, Mahama is competing with some party stalwarts to become the NDC’s flagbearer.
Some of them are the Second Deputy Speaker of parliament, Alban Sumanu Bagbin, Dr. Ekwow Spio-Garbrah and Professor Joshua Alabi.
