NPP executives assault chairman and MP; cars and party properties destroyed

- Some NPP members in Fomena have reportedly assaulted the MP for the area, Andrew Amoako Asiamah and the constituency chairman, Akwasi Nti

- Properties in a constituency office were destroyed and two cars were also damaged

- The MP is currently in hospital and receiving medical treatment

The Fomena constituency chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Akwasi Nti, and the Member of Parliament (MP) for Fomena, Hon Andrew Amoako Asiamah, have been assaulted by party officials.

According to a report by MyNewsGH.com, the incident occurred during a meeting held to resolve differences between party members and officials.

YEN.com.gh understands that two cars belonging to Nti and Asiamah, were destroyed along with some items in the party office.

The regional women’s organizer of the party, Nana Ama Amponmah and other regional executives of the party were there to ensure peace in the constituency.

However, some angry members of the party stormed the premises and began to vandalize the office and destroy cars.

Nti and Asiamah were injured after the attacked from the party members and some executives.

The MP has been hospitalized and no arrests have been made so far.
