Police Sergeant Emmanuel Amede reportedly shoots himself dead at Nungua

A policeman identified as Sergeant Emmanuel Amede has reportedly shot himself dead at Nungua in Accra.

According to a report, Sergeant Amede shot himself with an AK 47 rifle which he booked for official duties.

The incident is said to have happened in the police officer's room at the Nungua Police Barracks on Sunday dawn.

The 44-year-old police officer had reportedly kept the rifle in his room for reasons yet to be uncovered.

A report YEN.com.gh sighted on MyNewsGH.com, has the wife of the deceased explaining that her husband he suddenly woke up from sleep and asked her and the children to leave the room or he would kill them.

Alarmed by the husband's strange conduct, the wife drew the attention of her neighbours about the but before they reach the scene, he shot himself in the throat.

The Crime Ccene Management Team from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at the Police Headquarters were called to cover the scene.
