NDC calls for the dismissal of EOCO’s boss

- The NDC has wondered why EOCO's Executive Director, K.K Amoah, is still at post

- According to the party, the Menzgold saga should have triggered his dismissal

- They also expressed concern about EOCO's delay in investigating the Menzgold saga

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has expressed concerns about the fact that the executive director of the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) is still at post.

According to the director of communications of the party, Sammy Gyamfi, EOCO’s executive director, K.K Amoah, should have been relieved of his duties in the wake of the Menzgold saga.

At a press conference held on Wednesday, January 16, 2019, Gyamfi stated that: “we learnt late yesterday that EOCO has belatedly frozen the account of NAM1, and we have been told that EOCO will be going after his assets in the coming days.”

Kasapafmonline reports that he went on to say that these are sad times in Ghana because citizens are at a loss as to what the EOCO was doing all along.

In his opinion, the EOCO is only acting after Menzgold’s Nana Appiah Mensah, also known as NAM1, has already left the country.

The NDC also accused President Akufo Addo and senior officers within the government of being complicit in the whole Menzgold saga.

They argued that actions could have been taken in confiscating Mensah’s properties right from day one when the issues begun.
