Pentecost Church places ban amorous pre-wedding photos

- The Pentecost Church has banned pre-wedding photos for would-be couples in their congregation

- According to the church, the practice is being abused by would-be couples , hence the ban

- The move comes at a time when pre-wedding photos have become very popular in the country

The Church of Pentecost has placed a ban on sexually suggestive pre-wedding photo shoots.

In recent times, pre-wedding photo shoots have become an integral part of wedding ceremonies in Ghana just like around the world.

Many would-be couples are often seen wearing the same or similar outfits as the they take beautiful pictures.

For most of these couples, the pre-wedding photos are used to announce their wedding on social media.

But according to the church, a lot of the couples abuse the practice by going to the extreme of “touching” vital areas of each other as if they were already married desecrating the sanctity of holy matrimony in the process.

For this, the church which happens to be one of the churches with the largest number of worshippers in Ghana has thought it wise to ban the practice in order to maintain the holiness of marriage in the church.

Speaking at the Global Minister’s Conference at Pentecost Convention Center (PCC) – Gomoa Fetteh near Kasoa in the Central Region on Saturday, the General Secretary of the Church, Apostle Nana Yaw Kumi, stated the ban was to discourage the practice.

“During the pre-engagement time, under the guise of courting, they would be taking all sorts of pictures and spread it all over the place, and the pictures suggest they are already married.

“You would realise that, where they are touching and what they are doing are things that are supposed to be done by marriage couples.

"So we really want to discourage that… some are even bold enough to bring it on the day of the celebration of the marriage, you see them on the screen – somebody has raised the lady, sitting on his lap, touching this place and all that.

"We really want to discourage it that is what I mean by modestly and decently,” Starrfmonline.com quoted him to have said.

Apart from pre-wedding photos, the Pentecost Church has also placed a ban on the serving of alcoholic beverages and playing of secular songs with unacceptable lyrics during wedding receptions.
