Armed men killed Ahmed on Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at Madina, a suburb of Accra.
The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service (GPS) has began interrogating possible suspects such as Agyapong and former Ghana Football Association (GFA) president, Kwesi Nyantakyi.
They have therefore placed a GHC15,000 bounty on the heads of the murderers of the investigative journalist.
Agyapong has however denied his involvement in Ahmed’s death, and explained that he gains nothing from killing him.
The minority in Parliament had reportedly called on the police to swiftly arrest and begin the prosecution of Agyapong, for his alleged complicity in the murder.
They argued that their fellow MP knowingly or unknowingly aided in the killing of the journalist.
