Shatta Wale's Gringo wins topmost award in Uganda
Ghanaian dancehall sensation, Charles Nii Armah, known in showbiz as Shatta Wale has won the top award in Uganda ahead of 2019 Ghana Music Awards.
The controversial singer’s Gringo video won the Best African Music Video at the just ended Ugandan Music Excellence Awards.
Shatta Wale took to his Instgram to announced wining the aforementioned award. He beat off competition from Sauti Sol, Patoranking, Yemi Alade, Flavour and Nasty C.

The award will be a huge boost for Shatt Wale ahead of this year’s Ghana Music Awards.
The Gringo video was released by Zylofon Music on April 27, 2018, together with its music video.
The song was produced by Da Maker. In less than 48 hours after being released, the song reached number 4 on the US iTunes Top 100 reggae songs chart.

It was also a number one song on Ghana's iTunes Singles Chart.
YEN.com.gh had earlier reported how reportedly been made to walk off the stage at an event held at the University of Ghana, Legon.
His action was as a result of the students protesting against his performance on the stage.
