All VGMA Artiste of the Year winners since 1999

Ghana Music Awards is Ghana's most prestigious music awards organised by Charterhouse, one of the top event firms in Ghana.

Over the years, Charterhouse have appreciated the hard work of Ghanaian musicians through an award scheme.

The Ghana Music Awards has therefor become a household event that almost all artistes look up to.

The awards which is now called Vodafone Ghana Music Awards is the industry's biggest awards.

Since its inception, musicians and industry stakeholders have held it in high esteem even though there have been some allegations and scandals surrounding it.

Until 2008, the ultimate award was the "Most Popular Song of the Year" but the "Artiste of the Year" award is still regarded as the ultimate.

The VGMAs is here again and artistes are looking forward to win awards.

2019 is the 20th anniversary of the Ghana Music Awards and this time, Charterhouse has announced that the anniversary will be marked with a three-day event.

Meanwhile artistes competing for the top award this year are; King Promise, Kuami Eugene, Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, Sarkodie and Joe Mettle.
