Former British prime minister Tony Blair to help attract investments in Ghana’s Agric sector

Former prime minister of the United Kingdom (UK), Tony Blair, has held discussions with Ghana’s Agric minister, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, with regard to Ghana's agricultural sector.

YEN.com.gh understands that during their 30-minute-long meeting held on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 in Accra, they discussed how Blair could use his foundation to woo investors into the agric industry.

During the meeting, which was a follow up to two previous meetings they held in Kigali, Rwanda and London over the last six months, Blair lauded President Akufo-Addo’s flagship agricultural initiative, the planting for food and jobs.

Per a report by Dailyguidenetwork.com, he said the initiative has been well received around the world and was worth emulating.

The former prime minister also praised Ghana’s recent progress in agricultural development and hoped that a strong collaboration could be formed between the foundation and government to help promote investments in agriculture in Ghana.
