The head of event and communication at Charter House, George Quaye has revealed that Richie Mensah was asked to resign as member of the VGMA board due to his connection with MzVee.
George Quaye has made revelations concerning what triggered Richie Mensah's removal from the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards board.
According to George who is also the host of Rhythms A-Z on Joy FM, CEO of Lynx Entertainment Richie Mensah was fired from the board of VGMA after he signed Mzvee unto his record label.
During the Rhythms A-Z show on Joy FM where Richie Mensah appeared as guest, George Quaye disclosed Richie Mensah's relation to the VGMA board.
George Quaye explained that the reason for expelling Mensah from the board was because of rules governing the board.
He said it is a rule for the board that no VGMA board member is supposed to have ties with any musician.
George stated that the rule was put in place to avoid conflict of interest on the part of the VGMA board.

"As soon as he signed MzVee he was fired. The board no dey play like that, he was fired instantly. Same for Kwame Fakye, soon as he signed Adina he was fired quickly," he stressed.
Geroge Quaye was reacting to Richie Mensah picking his nomination to contest for the MUSIGA Vice-President.
George Quaye explained that even if Richie wins the contest he won’t be a member of VGMA board by default because he has already been fired from the board.
Richie Mensah on the other hand confirmed he is no more a member of the VGMA board and cautioned people to stop accusing him of using his influence to help his artistes to get nomination.
He noted that he has no influence or whatsoever to help his artistes get nominations or win awards at the VGMA.
