Banda's admission into the university comes just a year and some months after he was voted as the school prefect of Ghana National College in Cape Coast.
As reported by YEN.com.gh at the time, Banda received overwhelming support to win in 44 out of the 52 classes in the school.
Born on November 25, 2000, Rahim rose to fame as child actor about nine years ago.
His father, Ahmed Banda, is a music and movie producer who is popularly known as Bandex and his mother is from Thailand.
He was, at the beginning of this year, named alongside colleague young actor, Abraham Attah, as ambassadors for government's Free SHS programme.
