AfroChella 2019 happened in grand style on Saturday, 28th December 2019 drawing the attention of the Guinness World Records to its massive jollof cooking.

A news report by Ghanaweb indicates that the jollof that got the attention of the world-renowned organization was prepared by Tasty Tom, a popular food brand in Ghana.

The massive jollof was cooked by a team of experts in a large pot. Reports indicate that jollof has never 'happened' on such a massive scale.

Afrochella is an annual end of year African Art and Culture festival and this was the 3rd Edition at the Elwak Sports Stadium.

The video taken of the favourite Ghanaian dish won the hearts of many people and went viral. Surprisingly, the Guinness Book of Records added its voice in grand style.

Posting the video on their official Twitter handle, it said:

“A tasty attempt to break the record for the largest serving of Ghanaian style jollof rice, today at @Afrochella in Accra, Ghana”
