University student uses over 6,000 bottle covers to build VC's portrait

- Joshua Egesi, a UNIBEN student, recycled over 6,000 bottle covers to create a portrait for the school's vice-chancellor

- Apart from the fact that his art is beautiful, it also served as a good way to rid the environment of debilitating waste

- The portrait was adjudged to be the biggest of such in Africa

There really is no limit to the creativity exhibited by Nigerian youths. A case in point is Joshua Egesi, a University of Benin (UNIBEN) student.

Joshua used over 6,000 bottle cover to make a beautiful portrait of the UIBEN's vice-chancellor. According to Ijeoma Daisy, that style of portrait is the biggest in Africa.

This kind of art is a very good way to recycle and proves that art could serve as a good means of recycling to save the environment from pollution.

Meanwhile, Jerry Mallo, the Nigerian man who created the first carbon fibre sports car in 2019, built a state-of-the-art ventilator as a solution to the scarcity of the equipment in the country.

It should be noted that the machine is still undergoing some technical upgrades so as to meet the world's standard on production.

When showcasing the machine, the creator said building it is necessary as there is a strong need for a kind of ventilator that is accessible and cheap.

He said that African countries have been facing the serious need to get one that is affordable in order to powerfully combat the pandemic.

In other news, a 90-year-old woman, Hamako Mori (aka Gaming Grandma), became the oldest gaming YouTuber in the Guinness World Records.

Born on Monday, February 18, 1930, the smart old woman has over 150,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel. She started video-gaming 39 years ago when she saw her children passionately involved in it.

In other news, Doris Obenewaa Darko, a Ghanaian food vendor, holds two degrees in Mathematics & Actuarial Science after painfully fending for herself since she finished high school.

Narrating her story in an interview, Doris indicates that she holds a bachelor's degree in Mathematics after which she went ahead to study for an MSc in Actuarial Science, both at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.

Doris grew up in Koforidua-Kukurantumi and had her primary education in Rose's School Complex after which she attended Akim Commercial College JHS, all of which are in New Tafo Akim.
