Ghanaian founders of Gud Heart Quarry and Construction Limited, Nana Osei and his brother, are paving roads in Ghana with granite cobblestones.
After working in engineering for a while, Osei and his brother decided to come together and begin their own initiative.
The two creative entrepreneurs settled on granite after thinking it through about what to do with Ghana’s abundant resources.

At the moment, Gud Heart Quarry, makes use of the granite in crushing. The company crushes the resource into aggregates for road construction and other things.
According to Osei, using granite for road construction isn’t a new thing.
He tells YEN TV that most public and pedestrian roads in countries such as Belgium, Germany, Czech Republic, and Italy have their roads paved with granite.
Osei and his brother, who is a co-founder of their company, decided to travel to receive training in how to use granite for road construction.
Osei said:
We got trained in Czech Republic and in Italy. I had quite a bit of training in engineering and decided to return and start it here.

Osei admitted that in the early stages they encountered obstacles because they hadn’t done much work in Ghana and had not been accepted by the industry.
He disclosed that the company started on a very small scale producing just seven square metres per day. Today they are doing 100 square metres because they are getting a lot of business.
Osei reveals that Gud Heart has worked on four roads within the Tema port. He affirms that, technically, the roads are the strongest pavings in the country.
After four years of being in operation, Osei says their hard work is finally paying off.
The co-founder of Gud Heart sat in an interview with YEN TV to talk more about their company.

In another story, the Council of the Ghana Stock Exchange has named Abena Amoah as the deputy managing director of the exchange. Her appointment was announced in July and she has already received support as she prepares to take on her new role.
Abena Amoah will be in charge of operations at the exchange including trading and surveillance, listings and New products, the Ghana Fixed Income Market, and the IT systems of the exchange.
