Heavy security presence at EC headquarters as 2020 Elections results to be declared on December

- There is a heavy security presence at the headquarters of the Electoral Commission (EC) ahead of the declaration of the 2020 Elections results

- The Chairperson of the EC, Jean Mensah, has announced that she will declare the results by 5 pm on December 8, 2020

- Provisional results have been pouring out and they keep shifting in the favour of both the National Democratic Congress (NDC), and New Patriotic Party (NPP)

There is a heavy security presence at the EC Headquarters as the Chairperson of the EC, Jean Mensah, readies to announce the results of the 2020 Elections.

Photos seen by YEN.com.gh has armored vehicles situated at the headquarters with some policemen guarding the area.

This comes shortly after the EC announced that the results will be declared by 5 p.m of December 8, 2020, as it promised prior to the elections.

The NDC has, however, shot down the possibility of the EC collating all results for declaration within 24 hours.

It warned that the EC being in a rush to declare the results prematurely could breed violence.

Meanwhile, results trickling in shows Mahama and Akufo-Addo closing in on each other.

For instance, of 145 polling stations out of 38,622, both Akufo-Addo and Mahama polled a little over 25,000 votes each.
