This becomes a big win for President Akufo-Addo considering his win in the just ended general elections.

Meanwhile, President Akufo-Addo has released what many consider to be his first official photograph as his second term administration takes off.

The nicely shot photograph shows the president in a smartly worn political suit standing behind a presidential chair as the Flag of Ghana is boldly positioned behind him.

This picture, sources close to the president show, will be considered for official purposes moving forward.

Nana Akufo-Addo and his vice president, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, were sworn in to their second term at the Dome of Parliament on Constitution Day of January 7.

The event followed dramatic turns of the 7th Parliament when legislators scrambled and fought over seats, a ballot box and the snatching of a ballot paper during the election of the Speaker of Parliament.

Meanwhile, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has said it will not acknowledge Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as Ghana’s president.

Addressing a news conference in Accra on Friday, January 8, 2021, the general secretary of the party, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, said: “Let me state without any equivocation that the NDC shall not recognize Akufo-Addo as the President of Ghana until all issues surrounding his flawed elections are satisfactorily resolved.”

Some Ghanaians in Washington DC have protested the election results. Hoisting placards which read “We Voted Mahama”, these staunch supporters of the former president demand a revocation of the 2020 election results.

So far, John Dramani Mahama has called for an independent audit of all the Pink Sheets from the various polling stations in the country.

He recently told observers from the Electoral Commission that he will gladly concede defeat should the audit be done. The opposition NDC has also dared the electoral commission to make public, copies of pink sheets of the official declaration of results for Techiman South Constituency.

The minority leader Haruna Iddrisu says all attempts to get the commission furnish the party with the declaration sheets have proven futile. He alleges the commission’s failure to produce the declared results is an indication the commission manipulated figures to favor of the governing NPP.
