Tears flow as engineering graduate drowns in river 3 months after national service

- Tragedy struck recently in Delta state as a young man who completed his compulsory national youth service in October 2020 drowned

A Mechanical Engineering graduate identified as Friday Abiligo Orhomre has drowned in a river three months after serving his fatherland through the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

The young man, who graduated from Delta State Polytechnic (Delta Poly), was travelling in a speedboat with his mother and siblings when their boat capsized.

YEN.com.gh gathers that the unfortunate incident happened in Ughoton River, Okpe local government area of Delta state.

Sharing the sad news on Facebook, a user identified as Ugborotu Mark expressed shock over Friday's demise.

Ugborotu noted that the people of Ughoton and Nigeria have lost one of the great leaders of tomorrow to the cold hands of death.

Reacting to the tragedy, a Facebook user named Dickson Joshua wrote:

"Still a shock, may God comfort the family members."

Uremure Omawumi commented:

"I can't believe someone I chatted with if not yesterday or day bf yesterday is gone."

Catherine Ukogoro Iraye reacted:

"Hey this is the shockest news ever I still can't believe you are no more. Please oh am dreaming someone should please wake me up."

Kpemere Awenebi commented:

"This is disheartening, I couldn't believe this news on hearing it. May his soul rest in peace."

In a previous report by YEN.com.gh, a young medical doctor identified as ThankGod Odo drowned in a hotel swimming pool a day to the end of his housemanship.

The deceased's friend identified as Peter shared photos of the deceased on his page and expressed sadness over the death of the young man.
