According to an official at the palace, Lucas Philip Tindall was born on Sunday, March 21, and weighed 8 pounds, 4 ounces.

His middle name is a reference to his 99-year-old great-grandfather, Prince Philip, who recently returned home to Windsor Castle after a four-week stay in a hospital, Eonline reported.

"Zara and Mike Tindall are happy to announce the birth of their third child, Lucas Philip Tindall," said the couple's spokesperson.

Mike said that their son "arrived very quickly" and was born on the bathroom floor.

According to him, Zara's friend Dolly Maude was with them and recognized that they would not make it to the hospital in time for the baby's arrival.

"So it was running to the gym, get a mat, get into the bathroom, get a mat on the floor, towels down," he recalled.

"Fortunately, the midwife, who was going to meet us at the hospital was not that far away," he explained.

The midwife arrived just as they had assumed the position and the second midwife arrived just after the head of the baby had arrived.

"I literally was like ‘Yep, snip, snip, snip.’ I’ve got a boy. I’m out,” the 42-year-old dad of three joked of now wanting a vasectomy.

As royal fans may recall, Zara—who is the only daughter of Princess Anne and cousin to Prince William and Prince Harry—and Mike announced her pregnancy in late 2020.

"I'd like a boy this time. I've got two girls. I would like a boy. I will love it whatever, whether it a boy or a girl—but please be a boy," Mike said on his podcast in December.

Lucas is the 10th great-grandchild of the Queen and Prince Philip.

He is the 22nd in line to the throne, but he will not take His Royal Highness title.
